In God We Trust is a  foundational book to help in better understanding this American Covenant. The first part of the book covers God’s hand in Washington’s life and the Revolutionary War detailing the numerous miracles that led to the country’s eventual independence and subsequent Constitution. The second half of the book covers examples of divine intervention in American history and explores the reason for the country’s founding and what it portends for our future survival as a nation.

Washington summed up the miracles in the establishment of the United States this way. “The Hand of Providence [God] has been so conspicuous in all this, that he [you and I] must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge His obligations.”

If you do not understand the miracles and context in which they occurred which led to independence from Britain and Biblical liberty (American Liberty) being incorporated into our country’s founding documents, then you cannot understand the American Covenant.
